    SOSPESO COFFEE SHOP

Let’s begin from the name of the brand, the meaning of which is closely tied to an ancient coffee tradition. “Caffè sospeso” is an Italian tradition that originated in Naples. The term translates to “suspended coffee” in English. The concept is simple: when someone buys a coffee, they pay for two, leaving one “suspended” for someone less fortunate who can’t afford to buy one.

This tradition embodies the spirit of generosity and community, allowing those who can afford it to help out those in need in a discreet and dignified manner. Identity, multi-functionality, interactivity, and connection are what characterize Sospeso Coffee Shop.

The interior design focuses on the use of mosaic on the walls and columns, creating a dynamic atmosphere that is neutralized by wood and concrete. A massive window on the façade allows natural light to penetrate from outside while also enabling connection with the world beyond, emphasizing the venue’s hospitality.

    APPSTELLAR OFFICE

The most significant difference between the design of interiors and the design of almost everything else is the existence of the original building. The interior designer has to be forever conscious of the continual presence of an existing structure. However, far from this being a handicap or constraining factor, it can be used as a valuable tool, an instrument of liberation. In the process of creating interior space, through the reworking of the existing building or given space, the stimulus for transformation can often found in the existing building.

    EYEGLASSES, SERIES: SOCIOLOGY & PHILOSOPHY

    01 GUY DEBORD

Debord was a rebel, philosopher, and filmmaker. Arch-critic of consumerism and theorist of “the spectacle”. He was one of France’s greatest and most original intellectuals. Today, Debord appears as a prophet of our image-saturated hyper-digital consumer culture. Critically, he highlighted that our descent into a world “mediated by images” corresponds with the production of mass social alienation. Debord’s critique has never been more relevant than it is today.

    02 JACQUES DERRIDA

    “Deconstruction is not destruction”

    03 MICHAEL FOUCAULT

Foucault challenges the idea that power is wielded by people or groups by way of ‘episodic’ or ‘sovereign’ acts of domination or coercion, seeing it instead as dispersed and pervasive. ‘Power is everywhere’ and ‘comes from everywhere’ so in this sense is neither an agency nor a structure.

    AL PONTE DI RIALTO

Serving pizza during the day, dancing and drinking at night, this is a place that can be transformed easily to its purpose. Located in the heart of Venice, this project is the perfect example of redesigning, preserving and its adaptability to just transform the whole atmosphere.

The use of wood, polycarbonate, inox and other materials, create a warm atmosphere for visitors during the day, whereas at night a “metallic curtain” will be pulled down giving a nightclub and underground fever. Lights are also controlled to adjust to the context, adding warmth during the day and some spark during the night.

    SURREAL ELEVATION

A dreamscape, where gravity bends to the whims of imagination. Inspired by the brushstrokes of Rene Magritte’s pantings, this concept lays on the idea of air walking, realized in the combination of materials on the outsole where the missing spaces and the see through materials mimic the artist’s floating figures.
